Education Nights
The Spina Bifida Association of Georgia will be presenting three education sessions in 2009. All sessions are open to members of the SBAG, free of charge. Some are also open to the general public. This year's topics will include the following:
Summer Session: Financial Planning for Special Needs Families
This session will be presented by Rita Evans from Merrill Lynch and David Pollan of the Pollan Law Firm. Topics of discussion will include financial planning, legal issues & estate planning. This event is open to the public, and all special needs families are welcome to attend regardless of diagnosis.

Fall Session: Utilizing NeuroPsych Diagnosis Within the IEP Process
David Marcus, a neuropsychologist from Children's Hospital and a separate panel of education experts will break down the neuropsych evaluation for parents. This session will explain how to take a diagnosis from the test and request appropriate accomodations for your child on the IEP.
Audience: Parents of children ages 0 - 12, this event is FREE and open to the public

Winter Session: Adaptive Sports
Vendors from all over Georgia will be invited to discuss their adaptive sports programs to help both adults and children find recreational activities in their area. This event will be open to the public. More details to come.
